For the opening, there was a beautiful exhibit of works by Makoldi Sándor (1945-2017), known for his paintings of Hungary's ancient myths and folk tales that symbolized the country's heritage. Here below are a few pieces from the exhibit.
Fencing ("vívás" in Hungarian) has long been considered one of Hungary's greatest national sports, and the country has taken home close to 100 Olympic medals in the sport over the years, including almost 40 golds. Hungarians can compete from the age of 10 until... well, there's actually no limit. Here below are some shots from the Hungarian National Competition for the "Kadet" division (ages 15-16).
